This discussion is worth 40 points so it is a significant part of the week 5 grade. Points will be awarded in the following manner”

• 20 points for initial response to discussion prompt – to receive full credit, response must be substantive and must be posted by 11:59 pm, AZ time, on Thursday of week 5. Late penalties of 1 point per day will apply.
• 10 points for each reply up to two – to receive full credit, replies must be posted by 11:59 pm, AZ time, on Monday of week 5 and must be substantive. Generic replies such as “Good post” or “I agree with you” will not count toward participation.
• A 3 point penalty will be assessed if posts are not submitted on at least two separate days of the week.
• Only what is posted during week 5 will count toward the discussion grade.

• What sorts of information would you collect?
• How might you use what you have learned about probability to determine a course of action?
• What are the possible benefits and limitations of this approach?
