Women, men, children, adolescents, college students, elderly, truck drivers, teachers, lawyers-other occupations, husband, wives, LGBTQA, racial/ethnic groups-Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, Asian Americans, Jewish Americans, Native Americans, mixed race, Christians, Muslim Americans, Baptists, Protestants, Arab Americans, immigrants, international groups, workplace, military, drunk drivers, etc.)

Mentally ill, Athletes, Veterans, Drivers, Teen Drivers, Older Drivers, Disabled Drivers, NASCAR Drivers, Truck Drivers, COVID-19 population, COVID-19 positive, COVID-19 survivors, Fetuses: Fetal Alcohol Exposure, people living with HIV-AIDS, drug users, homeless, and those with commodities. Note that you can make a selection not included in this or the original list.

Before you make your choice:

Review the full assignment in the syllabus

• Conduct a quick review of the data on that population regarding  alcohol abuse problems
• A good start is to begin reviewing the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

Background: Special populations may include:

• Youth under age 21
• College-age young adults
• Senior citizens
• Women
• Ethnic and racial minorities

Co-occurring disorders are particular problems that often affect people who also suffer from alcohol abuse or dependence. These can include psychiatric problems like anxiety or depression, abuse of other drugs, as well as other illnesses such as HIV/AIDS.

Disorders that often affect people with alcohol problems include:

• Psychiatric disorders
• Substance abuse
• HIV/AIDS
