The idea of fire prevention is credited to the function of fire workers in vigorously responding to fire outbreaks incidences. It is the objective of the chief personnel in fire prevention, to enlighten the public concerning the hazards of fire outbreaks. As well, the staff has the responsibility of educating people about precautions and preventions of hazards that are potential causes of the outbreaks. To assume this responsibility, the Fire Manager in an organization ensures that the public complies with the given fire prevention codes

This comprises the responsibility to monitor, investigate, inspect, report, and conduct protective measures to address possible hazards if found. The discussion is going to present the statement of mission stipulating the responsibility as well as the role of the Fire Manager in the Fire Office, as far as safety and security of the organization from a fire are concerned. Besides, the discussion is going as well to address the problems found in the organizational building, through the provision of the appropriate solutions, which comply with the fire safety code of the building.

Mission Statement

The Office of Fire and Life Strategy and Fire Prevention Manager has a mission of ensuring the protection of properties, organization and its people from fire. In addition, there ought to be protection for all other circumstances, which renders impending threat to life and safety. Our primary role is ensuring that the organization we are serving complies with the codes of Fire and Life Safety, including other strategies intended to preserve property and life from fire harms

I being the Fire Prevention Manager, I would not ignore any violation. I would take them with the seriousness they deserve. Am aware that these violations can lead to negative publicity, severe fines and most significantly, a safety related problem. In case any problem arises, the very first thing I would consider doing is reminding my organization about the significance of complying with the safety and regulation codes.

The Electrical Problem                                         

Being the Fire Prevention Manager, I have noted about the electrical problem. I am aware that the supply service is worn badly and needs to be repaired immediately. Since this electrical problem is on the side of the organization and thus the local power providers will not do the repair, I will ensure that the experts from the organization attend to this problem instantly. This will make sure that the team is operating in a secure environment free from hazards

I have as well found that the main operations floor’s basement has three out of its nine concrete columns showing signs of fatigue, and there is a wide- spread spalling of concrete. This is a precarious situation as the building is likely to come down anytime. A very stern step should be taken, as this cannot be ignored. As the Fire Office Manager, I will ensure that all the operations taking place on that particular floor have been relocated to somewhere else. This is because the conditions of the structure are life threatening, and therefore a temporary solution should be sought immediately.

The Ventilation Problem

In addition, I cannot forget about the ventilation problem. The machinery’s exhaust is accumulating in the upper level thus the employees have been experiencing carbon monoxide inhalation symptoms. I am aware that this can result in chronic health problems. So, the very first thing that I will consider doing will be providing a 3m replaceable type of mask immediately to all people who are around the machinery. However, I will consider this as just a temporary solution to the problem at hand. Once we get the funding from the board, we will put a permanent solution in place.

The problem about heating and air conditioning unit having worn out wires, clogged filters and broken seal can lead to fire outbreak in the building. As it is well known, this is a fire hazard that poses a significant risk, not only to our organization but also to the community and the environment. To prevent a catastrophic incident, the fire prevention risk management ought to be performed instantly. The worn wires should immediately be replaced with new ones. The heating and the air condition unit should not be left behind. Fire Prevention and Safety experts should ensure that everything has been put in order, and there is no more danger or risk of firebreak. Besides applying my expertise to respond to these issues and the others, I will ensure that as a manager, I have complied with safety rules to come up with lasting solutions to the problems in our organization.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the board should know that we are experiencing tough issues and not just mere code violations. Besides preventing being fined, we are as well trying to make sure that the people in our community are also protected.  We are having very significant violations, which call for immediate address. History has taught us never to ignore violation as this may lead to a grave hazard. In our case, we are discussing the three top problems, which I noted during the inspection. Besides addressing the current challenges, it is essential for us to be enlightened about fire prevention, fire codes and safety training, to prevent this from happening in future. I would let the board know that we are in a very severe situation, and we require funding.
